Junior Golf Academy
Whether you have an aspiring tour star or just want to introduce your son or daughter to the game, involvement for kids should begin in the same place – the Dustin Johnson Junior Golf Academy.
The goal of the Golf Academy, which is held every Tuesday (Thursdays during March) and two Sundays per month at TPC Myrtle Beach, is starting kids on a path the will lead them to a lifetime of enjoying the game. With that in mind, Allen Terrell, the director of instruction at the Dustin Johnson Golf School, has set up three classifications within the academy, allowing him to assist junior golfers of all ages and abilities.

SPARK
Ages 3 - 6
The SPARK (ages 3-6), IGNITION (ages 7-10), FUEL (ages 10-13), and PERFORMANCE (ages 13-18) divisions each have different curriculums. Players improve their game each week by practicing and completing various challenges, allowing them to earn different ranks through the Operation 36 platform.
It’s an engaging program that encourages kids to practice and improve in an environment that places an emphasis on fun with development. While many programs teach kids to play from tee to green, the Operation 36 initiative instead teaches kids to play from green to tee, which has proven to be a highly successful formula for advancement.
As kids advance through the Dustin Johnson Junior Golf Academy, private lessons are often a logical next step for players with an interest in playing competitively.
However, the real goal of the program is to teach kids the fundamentals of golf, and build a solid foundation for a lifetime of love for the game.
